Privacy policy

1. Controller

The party responsible for processing personal data in connection with this website is:

Roger Kropf
Gempenstrasse 13
4104 Oberwil BL, Switzerland
Email: shunkou@ikenobobasel.ch

If you have any questions about data protection or wish to exercise your rights, you may contact us at this address at any time.

2. Principles

We process personal data in good faith, proportionately, and solely for the purposes set out in this policy. We do not collect more data than necessary. The applicable law is the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revised FADP).

This website is deliberately simple: it uses no cookies, no analytics or statistics services, no advertising networks, and no content loaded from third parties such as fonts, maps, or videos. Your browsing behaviour is not analysed in any way.

3. Contact form

When you use the contact form, we process the following details:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Language
  • Prior experience
  • Content of your message

How it works: your entries are received by a script on our server and forwarded exclusively by email to our mailbox. The form data is not stored permanently on the web server.

Purpose: we use these details solely to answer your enquiry and, in the case of a course registration, to organise your participation.

Retention: your message remains in our email mailbox for as long as is necessary to deal with your enquiry, after which we delete it. Where a course registration has actually taken place, we retain the details for as long as statutory retention obligations require (as a rule ten years for business records).

No advertising without consent: we do not use your contact details for advertising or newsletters unless you have expressly agreed to this.

Spam protection: to guard against automated submissions, the form contains an additional field that is invisible to you. No data is transmitted to third parties in the process.

4. Email mailbox

Our email mailbox is operated by hosttech GmbH in Switzerland. Your message therefore does not leave Switzerland.

5. Server log files

When you access this website, the hosting provider automatically records technical details transmitted by your browser:

  • IP address
  • date and time of access
  • page accessed
  • browser type and operating system
  • referring page (referrer)

This data serves the secure and stable operation of the website as well as error analysis. We do not attribute it to individual persons, and we do not evaluate the log files. They are deleted automatically once the retention period set by the hosting provider has elapsed.

6. Hosting

This website is hosted by:

hosttech GmbH
Seestrasse 15a
8805 Richterswil, Switzerland

The hosting provider processes the data referred to in section 5 on our behalf and is obliged to maintain confidentiality and to comply with data protection requirements. The website is operated on servers located in Switzerland. No disclosure of data abroad takes place.

7. Cookies

This website does not use cookies. No data is stored on or read from your device.

8. Data security

Data is transmitted in encrypted form via HTTPS (recognisable by the padlock symbol in your browser's address bar). We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, and misuse.

Please note that the transmission of emails between providers is not encrypted in every case. Please do not send us sensitive details (e.g. health data) via the form.

9. Your rights

Under the revised FADP you have, in particular, the following rights:

  • access to information on whether and which personal data we process about you
  • rectification of inaccurate data
  • erasure or destruction of your data
  • release or transfer of your data in a common electronic format
  • objection to the processing

An informal message to the address given in section 1 is sufficient to exercise these rights. We may request additional details for identification purposes.

If you believe that your data is not being processed lawfully, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, www.edoeb.admin.ch).

10. Additional information for persons in the EU and the EEA

Our offering is directed at persons in Switzerland. Insofar as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) nevertheless applies to the processing of your data, the following information applies in addition.

10.1 Legal bases

We process your data on the following bases pursuant to Art. 6(1) GDPR:

  • Contact form and course enquiries: point (b) (performance of pre-contractual measures and of a contract), insofar as your enquiry concerns participation in a course; otherwise point (f) (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries).
  • Server log files and spam protection: point (f) (legitimate interest in the secure and trouble-free operation of the website).
  • Statutory retention: point (c) (legal obligation), insofar as retention periods under commercial or tax law apply.
  • Consent: point (a), insofar as you have given it to us. You may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future; the lawfulness of processing carried out up to that point remains unaffected.

10.2 Voluntary nature of the information

Providing your data in the contact form is neither legally nor contractually required. Without the details marked as necessary, however, we cannot answer your enquiry.

10.3 Transfers to third countries

Our website, our server infrastructure, and our email mailbox are operated in Switzerland. Switzerland is a third country within the meaning of the GDPR; the European Commission has, however, confirmed that it provides an adequate level of data protection. No transfer to any other third country takes place.

10.4 Your rights under the GDPR

In addition to the rights set out in section 9, you have the right to:

  • access to the data processed (Art. 15)
  • rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16)
  • erasure (Art. 17)
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18)
  • data portability (Art. 20)
  • object to processing based on a legitimate interest (Art. 21)
  • lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your place of residence, place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement (Art. 77)

10.5 No automated decision-making

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

10.6 Data protection officer and representative in the Union

We are not required to designate a data protection officer pursuant to Art. 37 GDPR.

We do not currently designate a representative in the Union: our offering is directed at persons in Switzerland, the processing is only occasional, does not involve special categories of data on a large scale, and is unlikely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms (Art. 27(2)(a) GDPR). Should we direct our offering regularly at persons in the EU or the EEA in future, we will review this assessment and adapt this policy accordingly.

11. Changes

We may adapt this privacy policy at any time. The version published on this website at the relevant time is the authoritative one.
